Arriving in the South of France

Posted by Kimberley Garner on

Summers here, and keeping up our yearly tradition, Maddie and I headed to St Tropez…
I have been coming here since I was a little girl, even learnt to walk on the beach! The same ice cream parlours and little rustic streets, St. Tropez defiantly feels like home.

St Tropez is a little fishing town on the southern coat of France.

Once an unassuming little provincial seaside town, the beginning of the 20th century saw St Tropez liberated by an influx of artists and musicians bringing in the glamour..
Maddie arrived late afternoon, not in the mood for anything too glam we hoped int the car and went on a little explore, determined to find some little beaches we had not found before…
We have known each other since Boarding School and she is one of my best friends, we always seem to get up to mischief
Sun was setting we headed back to our little hotel in town, La Ponche. Its a really cosy little hotel right in the very centre of town.
Playing around Maddie managed to push me into the sea, before we rushed to dinner reservations at l’Escale.
Its a girly restaurant right on the port, perfect for people watching. The floor is covered with sand, literally…
We had cream and truffle spaghetti, I think the other was tomato pasta, which I really had no interest in after trying the cream one! Amazing!…. and Tuna Sashimi (yes the heathy dish you order to pretend you don’t just want pasta..)
After lots of peach bellinis we skipped down the port, wondered in and out the late night shopping and grabbed some ice creams.
Perfect first cosy night, excited for the day tomorrow!
